Happy new year - Are you ready for #mentorevo?

The official sign-up is starting tomorrow. We are looking forward to talking about mentoring with you.

Have a great new year.

These are some characteristics of mentors

Which do you find the most important, do you have any examples of you needing these skills and characteristics?

  1. Hi everybody!
Most important: has a learning attitude, has desire to help others, has up to date knowledge (some reservations about this though, regarding current time when we deal with abundance), mentors are practical.
I would like to add one more item: mentor has good skills to support, organise and guide mentees.
Is it always true mentors succeed? How do mentors deal with mistakes which might arise in the process? How do mentors deal with their own uncertainty and help mentees learn about it?

  2. I totally agree with Debbie. Mentoring means learning and helping. Good Mentors as well as good teachers, try to find a way out most of the time. If I am asked: mentors as well as teachers sometimes succeed and sometimes fail: we are all human. How mentors deal with their own uncertainty?.I think we need to try to learn from our own and from other people´s mistakes as well as from the negative and positive aspects of every situation: nothing is completely written: improvisation and to the moment resolutions help teachers and mentors.
